The City of Plymouth Festival of Music Speech, Drama & Dance is open to all age groups starting each year in July for Dance & followed in November with Speech, Drama & Music..

There are classes for poetry, prose recital, bible reading, drama, singing ; instrumental music — classical, popular, folk, jazz — individual groups, all forms of dance, solos, duet, trios & groups. 
 
The festival was founded in 1914 and is affiliated to the National Federation of Festivals & its specialist adjudicators are highly experienced and offer friendly, constructive criticism and much encouragement. 
A syllabus and entry details are sent each ~ April / May to all teachers and interested individuals in the area Copies are also available from the main Library (Music Section) or by phoning the Festival’s General Secretary. 

The programs are printed 1—2 weeks before the Festival. Members of the public are encouraged to watch and enjoy morning , afternoon or evening sessions — a small entry charge is made.
