About Linda Stein
Linda moved from Windsor to Cornwall 30 years ago for a better life,
she
started selling her slate paintings at various shows in The West Country,
taking commissions to paint pets, boats, house and places. Many still hanging in
public and private houses.
Linda also worked on Props at the Theatre Royal Plymouth working on
pantomimes, musicals and making a variety of props including a narrating
owl for Ted Rogers and witches hands for Honor Blackman.
Linda has also Painted murals on the outside of pubs and taught craft and prop
making at evening classes.
Taking advice from friends Linda took time out to take a 3 year diploma in
art and design in Plymouth Art College
After this she reached the final of Woman Magazine designer of the year
finals of Knitwear designs shown on "The clothes show" and the final of
the "Ariel Needles National Knitware Competition" held at the South Kensington
Roof Gardens, which provided interest from designer shops in
London. She also Won a Silver award at the Child and Nursery Trade Fair
in London. From these achievements Linda then turned to Designing and
Manufacturing children’s clothes (in Saltash) and sold to major shops including
Selfridges in London, also
around the world. Opening 3 shops in the West Country selling her unique
range of children’s clothes "grobaggs" (reversible clothes for children
to grow into not out of) which were featured on "The Clothes Show" and
"This Morning" with Richard and Judy.
Linda enjoys a design challenge.
She loves all aspects of craft and has also engraved glass, designed
crochet and knitwear,
Throughout the years Linda has sketched and painted scenes from
the West Country. and is now able to concentrate on what she came down
here for.

Truro, Cornwall Thursday, Good Friday
and Easter Saturday will take place on
Truro's Lemon Quay, with more than 80
local members of the scheme. Gifts
crafts, jewellery, sweets, felting,
paintings .photographs, knitwear,
pottery, slate paintings.
