Honiton an unusually attractive small town which boasts a long, Georgian main street. Thatched cottages are at the the west end. Famous for lace making. The country side around Honiton is ideal for walking. Within easy reach Hembury Fort, an Iron age hill fort, which has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

Nearby we find the small town of Colyton full of narrow streets, with a history dating back to around AD700.Winding lanes make Colyton ideal walking country. An electric tram runs to Seaton on the coast and back in the summer.

Sea fishing at Seaton and Sidmouth. Boats can be hired from the beach at Sidmouth and Beer. The best time for fishing at Seaton is between Sept and Nov for bass. Sidmouth Bay is best in spring and summer. Trout fishing on stretches of the Rivers Exe, Otter and Sid. Coarse fing on the Exeter Canal.
