- Studland village is mainly of red
brick and set on a beautiful
peace of coast, with trees and combes, dunes and beaches. Near
the village a leafy lane leads straight to the east-facing protected
secluded bathing beach.
- From Shell Bay, at the north end of the broad
Studland Bay, a car ferry crosses to Sandbanks, near Poole.
At the southern end of Studland Bay a footpath over Ballard Down leads
to Swanage, with wonderful sea views to the crumbling chalk stacks of
the Old Harry Rocks.
