Mevagissey
is one of Cornwall's prettiest fishing villages the streets being so
narrow discourages heavy vehicles and on busy days the police close
the village to all traffic. Then cars are left just outside the
village leaving the fortunate sightseer clear lanes to wander
through.
Boatmen take visitors on trips around the bay or on fishing
expeditions, including shark fishing. There are many good bathing
beaches north at Polstreath and Portmellon.
