    Rock Oyster Festival. 12noon - 12midnight Sat. June 19th and 12Noon - 3pm Sun. June 20th Porthilly, Rock, Wadebridge, Cornwall PL27 6JX
Porthilly Farm in Rock will play host to the inaugural Rock Oyster Festival over the weekend of 19th – 20th June this year. The festival is being organised by a team of locals whose passion for the shellfish of the Cornish coast has convinced them to hold an event which celebrates and champions the sustainable seafood. This will be the first oyster festival ever on the North coast of Cornwall which is something that the organisers and the community are already very excited about. The festival site belongs to supporter Rock Shellfish whose delicious oysters and mussels will be the stars of the show.  For those who hesitate when faced with molluscs, there’s a vast array of other local produce on offer too.
No festival is complete without an opportunity to see and hear some good live music. The Destroyers, a 15 strong mélée of
instrumentalists, vocalists and composers who play furiously paced folk will headline on the Saturday night. Supporting will be the Winter Mountain Band a local outfit who come highly recommended. With the festival going on over two days, there is nearby camping for those wanting to make the most of Saturday night or if you’re more inclined towards AA rosettes and room service there are a selection of quality hotels nearby.
Festival organisers Jerome Fack and Charlie Anderson, say ‘Our invitation to visitors is to arrive hungry, sample the best, take part in the fun and leave happy and full!”

    PADSTOW’S CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL
    3rd – 5th DECEMBER 2010

Start your festive season with a trip to Padstow’s 3rd annual Christmas Festival from Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th December 2010.
It’s during December that Padstow is at its most magical. Promising an array of seasonal treats including Christmas lights and decorations, Santa’s grotto, fireworks, seasonal food, festive demonstrations and late night shopping, visitors will be spoilt for choice. A traditional Christmas market will be situated in a large marquee on the quay side of the idyllic seaside town, where stalls will be laden with Cornish goodies and gifts. Visitors can also explore Padstow’s boutique retailers for artisan jewellery, crafts, fashion and home wares. With entertainment and live music to keep the kids entertained, Padstow’s Christmas Festival offers a great way to make the most of a winter’s day.

    5th December 2010

With scenic estuary views, carols around the Christmas tree and live music, visitors can soak up the merry atmosphere whilst escaping the hustle and bustle of city life. The celebration will culminate with a special Christmas service and carols at the historic St Petroc’s church
