- St.Just is the most
westerly town in mainland England. In the last century the nearby
copper and tin mines were in full productivity and St.Just bustled
with activity. The gabled houses and old Inns still give a busy
working atmosphere despite the mines being closed in the area.
- West of St.Just is the
impressive headland of Cape Cornwall, now cared for by the National
Trust. Cape Cornwall is said to be "the only cape in
England". (A cape is a headland at the meeting of two oceans or
channels)
- Offshore lie "The
Brisons", rocks notoriously dangerous to shipping in the past.
