Street is a busy little village just south of Glastonbury, on the
slopes of the Polden Hills, where the Romans mined stone.
There are
good walks over the hills, with fine views across the moors to the
Mendip and Quantock hills and to the Bristol Channel.
The view is outstanding from Ivythorn Hill, a ninety acre wooded
estate owned by the National Trust, three miles south of Street. |
