Axminster  Devon

Axminster is a busy country town with a long history between Honiton and Dorchester. Set originally by the intersection of two Roman roads, the Foss Way and Icknield Street - although archaeological remains from the neighbourhood suggest an even earlier foundation. Axminster is famous for its  carpets started by a local weaver, Thomas Whitty. A drive south along pleasant Devon country roads will bring you to Axmouth and Seaton.
